Greening our Community Grants

The City of Holdfast Bay offers not for profit community groups grants of up to $5000 for environmentally themed projects. Community groups in the past have accessed funding for energy efficient lighting and hand dryer retro fits, solar panels, indigenous and produce gardens, best practice waste systems and more.

GREEN LIVING SUBSIDIES

The City of Holdfast Bay offers rebates on a number of products that assist our community to live a more environmentally sustainable lifestyle. Whilst funds last, households and businesses can receive one rebate per item per financial year on item such as switching from gas to electric appliances, rainwater tank purchases or plumbing, compost bins or worm farms, indigenous plants, nest boxes and more.

The City of Marion has a strong commitment to support the community through a number of grant opportunities. Eligible groups can apply for funding to make their projects, programs and events a reality. All grants encourage community connection celebrating and promoting diverse, inclusive and environmentally responsible neighbourhoods.

HOME COMPOSTING REBATE SCHEME

The Home Composting Rebate Scheme offers a 50% rebate on eligible home composting products including a compost bin, worm farm or bokashi bucket.

REGULATED TREE MAINTENANCE FUND

Properly looking after magnificent Regulated and Significant trees can be expensive. The Regulated Tree Maintenance Fund provides assistance for property owners, including arborist reports, tree pruning, and pest and disease control.

Establishing a verge garden helps to green your local streets, improve biodiversity, shows pride in your neighbourhood and builds a strong sense of community. The City of Marion is offering residents a 50% rebate towards the costs of greening their verge.

The City of Mitcham offers residents the opportunity to participate in a bulk purchase of solar panels and batteries, as well as participate in a virtual power plant to get a great deal selling excess energy to the grid.

ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY Grants

The City of Onkaparinga Environment & Sustainability Grants support community-led projects that foster environmental stewardship and build capacity and capability. Funding for energy efficiency upgrades is also available for not for profit groups that lease council-owned buildings.

Water Sustainability Grants aim to achieve better management of our land, creeks, rivers, coasts and marine environments and Grassroots Grants are available to support wide ranging efforts by individuals and groups to maintain and improve their local environments.
